Bold Woman of February-- Meet Taneka!

Tell us a little more about you. I'm an English teacher who's now a stay-at-home mom. It's going on 7 years that this New Yorker ,has been in DC! Yes, time has wings. I love to dance, watch movies, cook and dine, work out and play with my eight-month old baby boy, all with my husband by my side.

Why do you like to do dance fitness as your work out? I love to dance!  It doesn't feel like working out with Sara because of the amazing soca, dancehall, Caribbean flavors that I just love.  I feel so happy and energetic and too cool.  I feel like I'm working it!  I've been doing dance fitness since I came to DC 7 years ago.

What makes you feel bold or fierce in your every day life? Rocking my natural hair in a fabulous fro or head wrap.  

What music are you listening to right now? In my car, I'm always blasting reggaeton or Latin Music.  My family is from Jamaica, and I love all Caribbean music.  It makes me feel so happy in the inside.

Tell us a fun fact about you. One of my sisters and I have the same birth date of July 18th but we are two years apart!

Do you have any interesting fitness related goals in 2017? I want to get back into running. Since you asked, I'm going to sign up for a 5K.

Any reason why you like BoldBeats/Sara's classes? The music and choreography is always hot! I wish that I could Shazam every song! We also have an awesome community during our "happy hour." I see my friends during class. It's just FUN, and it's at the end of the week so it's a celebration every time.
